An Archive of Significant Historical Interest
The Martini & Rossi Historical Archives are among the most complete and researched in the vermouth, wines and spirits industry. They consist of approximately 2 linear kilometers of archival documents, folders, ledgers, photographs, audiovisuals, bottles, posters, objects and other composite supports.
The archives were recognized in 1999 as being of ‘relevant historical interest’ by the Ministry of Culture of the Italian Republic.
The historical archives have been structured into fonds and collections, thanks to which it is possible to relive today the incredible history of an iconic Made in Italy brand around the world.
Michel Re Agnelli and Baudino and Martini & Rossi Fonds
This is the largest portion of the archives, comprising the documentary series created by the Italian company and its predecessors from 1847 onwards. The types of documents include company ledgers, finance journals, inventories, payroll registers, incoming and outgoing correspondence, business folders relating to the activities of the various departments (accounting, public relations, marketing, trademarks, human resources and personnel administration, production, etc.).
Foreign Fonds
These fonds preserve the documentation transferred from some of the company’s branches outside of Italy. They capture the early and global dimension of Martini & Rossi’s international expansion and, at the same time, supporting the study of the dynamics of the Italian wine and spirits industry in the world.
Archival Collections
This section includes MARTINI branded items and other documentation collected over the years such as collections of bottles, labels, advertising material, awards, audiovisuals, photographs, and records related to sporting activities and MARTINI Racing.
Particularly noteworthy is the photographic collection of the Terrazza Martini, which consists of over 50,000 photographs, most of which were taken during events at the Terrazza in Milan.
